Welcome to Concord

Our real estate shop is honored to be serving the Concord real estate market. With such a rich historic and cultural legacy, Concord, Massachusetts is a great place to live. It is a very desirable town as far as real estate goes.

Concord is a classic New England town, incorporated in 1635. Our town has 2 picturesque centers, handsome antique homes as well as new construction, preserved open spaces, rivers and ponds, family farms, public transportation and excellent schools.

Add to all this the town's unique role in our nation's birth during the American Revolution and its notable literary past and you have one very special place! 

The town of Concord is located 19 miles Northwest of Boston and borders the towns of Acton Carlisle Bedford Lincoln Sudbury and Maynard. The primary transportation roads passing through town are state Route 262119 117 and 2A. Residents can also take advantage of the MBTA commuter rail to North Station in Boston (trains stop in both Concord and West Concord) as well as its connection to the Red Line T at Porter Square in Cambridge. The one-way train trip to Boston is approximately 40 minutes.  As of the last 2010 census the town's population was found to be 17688 residents.

Concord has a five member Board of Selectman and a Town Manager who direct the town government thru an Open Town Meeting process. The town is also served by its own municipal Light Plant for electricity; allowing for lower rates and more reliable service than big regional utility providers. Approximately a third of residential real estate in town are connected to town sewer with water provided by the Concord Public Works department. Police and Fire Departments are both full time and there is emergency ambulance service. Emerson Hospital located right in Concord on Route 2 is a wonderful and convenient healthcare facility including its emergency room. 

Concord's public school system is made up of three elementary schools all which have been newly built in the last ten years. There is one middle school on two campuses. The high school with a new facility now under construction is a regional one with students also attending from the town of Carlisle. Private schools in town include the Fenn School Nashoba Brooks Concord Academy and the Middlesex School. There are numerous preschools nursery schools and day care centers; as well as the Harvey Wheeler Community Center which serves the Council on Aging and the town's senior citizens. 

Concord is a community that thrives on its deep cultural and historic heritage. The town has its own chorus orchestra band four theater companies two art centers museums and a performing arts theatre. For historic offerings you will find the likes of the Old North Bridge which was the site of the first battle of the Revolutionary War Walden Pond where Henry David Thoreau lived and penned his book 'Walden' plus the homes of authors Louisa May Alcott Ralph Waldo Emerson and Nathaniel Hawthorne. Many people buy homes in Concord because of the charming and thriving downtown.

Concord center boasts an independent bookstore and toyshop a number of wonderful restaurants coffee shops a bakery and unique retail shops. The Colonial Inn operated as a hotel since 1889 is also located in the center of town on Monument Square Concord's town common. The Concord Visitor Center is located at 58 Main St. and is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The visitor's center has public rest rooms and seasonal guided tours.  Recreational facilities include the town operated Beede Swimming and Fitness facility the South Bridge boat house White Pond Walden Pond and numerous playing fields. The Minuteman National Historical Park has several park programs that operate regularly and visitor locations in town.
